His latest book, Linux Phrasebook, is in stores now. I am new to Linux, and I want to learn the command line. I forgot to mention earlier that I also have Linux Phrasebook, which is fairly concise but not quite reference material. Sams.MySQL.Phrasebook.Essential.Code.and. May I recommend the book Linux Phrasebook by Scott Granneman, published by Developer's Library in 2006. It is even smaller than my Linux Phrasebook by Scott Granneman! Since i bought it I have found it an invaluable resource. Not a huge problem, just a little nitpick. It's what I've been using off and on up until now whenever I've venture into the command line. Of course, that software only works on Windows or Mac OS X, so Linux users are out of luck (and no, it doesn't work under WINE believe me, I tried).
